New Delhi, May 27, 2023 – Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, presided over a high-level meeting today to assess the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects in 43 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including prestigious institutions such as IITs, IIMs, IIITs, IISERs, and Central Universities. The meeting also encompassed a review of ongoing projects in schools under the purview of the Ministry of Education, such as Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodya Vidyalayas, across the country. Attending the meeting were Shri K. Sanjay Murthy, Secretary of Higher Education, heads of HEIs, senior officials from CPWD, NBCC, and the Ministry of Education.
During the meeting, Shri Pradhan urged the HEIs to expedite the completion of infrastructure projects by the year’s end. He emphasized that the timely completion of these modern facilities would significantly contribute to the nation’s endeavor to cultivate 21st-century global citizens.
The ongoing projects encompass a range of critical infrastructure developments, including new academic blocks, laboratories, hostels, and facilities for vocational activities. These initiatives are being implemented across various IITs, IIITs, IIMs, IISERs, and Central Universities, enabling them to enhance their academic and research capacities.
