The National Testing Agency (NTA) — while revealing the new dates for the 2020 Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main — stated the admit card would be issued 15 days in advance of the exam date. As the exam is expected to take place from 1 to 6 September, the admit card will be published at jeemain.nta.nic.in by 15 or 16 August.
After withholding the JEE Main twice, however, the cases of coronavirus continue to escalate and parents and students are seeking a further extension. Also when a group of students requests to conduct examinations concerned about the delay in the new academic year, the case is still with the Supreme Court contemplating the students’ safety.
Certain tests planned for September also include National Defense Academy (NDA) — set to take place on September 6 — have issued their admit cards already.
In the first attempt, more than nine lakh applicants have applied for JEE Main. The registration window was resumed later to allow students who had to fly overseas to register for the same again. Those whose UPSC NDA and JEE Main exams clashed on the same day, NTA also offered them the opportunity to intimidate the same so their examination could be held on a different schedule.
The examination organizing body also permitted several chances for students to change their examination centre in order to ensure the minimum amount of traffic.
JEE Main Upcoming Challenges
Experts think the competition is predicted to be significantly harder with postponement in JEE Main and cut-offs are likely to be higher than standard and students who couldn’t remain focused could be at a disadvantage. Students moving to isolated places argue they’re at an unfavourable spot over others.
