Achyuta Samanta, the founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), made an announcement stating that the institute will be providing free of cost technical and professional education in Odisha to the children of those deceased due to the Coronavirus.

The children may apply for the technical and professional courses of KIIT. These include ITI and Diploma Engineering. The admission will be provided according to the eligibility for the admissions for the separate programs.

The free of cost education will be provided for two academic years i.e. 2020-21 and 2021-22.

This initiative of free of cost education will offer consolation to the Osidha people who have just been left vulnerable because of the disease outbreak. The State’s schools and universities have been suspended since March 2020 because of the epidemic.

Recently the UGC had issued a series of instructions to be adopted by universities all over the country to administer the students ‘ final semester exams. Nonetheless, the same was updated by the UGC and published earlier this month requesting the country’s institutions to conduct final year exams by September 2020, in the electronic, offline, or both modes.
